The Marshall County Commissioners decided last week to add one more building to the list of appraisals to be done by Industrial Appraisal.
On the recommendation from Consultant Mike Miley, the commissioners unanimously decided to include David’s Courage to the list of building appraisals. The organization is housed in the former Shady Rest Home building once owned by the county. The ownership exchanged hands in August of 2018. The addendum to the contract would add $650 to the overall cost, but the commissioners thought it would be a good investment in case the property would revert back to the county.
The cost of the contract of $4,999, along with the additional office equipment appraisal cost of $1,845 plus the addendum.
David’s Courage does insure the property. If the appraisal comes back higher for what the organization currently insures, the commissioners may ask them to insure it for more than the current policy.
