Marshall County Commissioners Discuss Contract for Inmate Medical Services

The Marshall County Commissioners discussed the contract with Quality Correctional Care to continue services at the Marshall County Jail.

Sheriff Matt Hassel said he was fine with the contract and has been satisfied with their services to the county inmates.

County Attorney Jim Clevenger said the contract includes one physician visit per week, one mental health care provider visit per week, a nursing staff that works 40 hours a week, one nurse administrator visit per week, and 24/7 telecommunication with a physician or mental health professional.  It also called for off-site care at the county’s expense.

The compensation will increase to an annual cost of $167,410 in monthly installments of nearly $14,000.

Clevenger noted that it includes mutual indemnification provisions.

The commissioners approved the contract with a unanimous vote.  The contract is for four years with automatic renewal, but the county can terminate the contract without cause with 30 days notice.
