Need for Additional EMTs Discussed at Argos Town Council Meeting

During the EMS Department report at last Wednesday’s Argos Town Council meeting, Councilman Charles Randy Snead shared that the Town is in need of some additional Emergency Medical Technicians.

Snead serves as the council’s liaison for the EMS Department and noted that he has been attending their meetings regularly and coordinating with new EMS Director Sarah McCallum.

According to Snead, there are a few EMTs from Plymouth who have expressed an interest in working for the Town of Argos. He noted that they would need to stay in the area over night if they worked the night shift.

Snead said he’s been talking with Director McCallum about the possibility of rearranging the EMS office and getting some extra beds set up in there to accommodate out-of-town EMTs. He indicated that, whatever the cost of the beds may be, it would be worth it to have trained EMTS readily available when an emergency strikes.

Director McCallum added they’re searching for additional drivers at this time as well.
