Marshall County to Submit Community Crossings Application

Marshall County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters will submit a list of projects that will be included in a Community Crossings grant application to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Those projects will include Dogwood Road from U.S. 6 to the County Line, 11th Road from U.S. 31 to S. Michigan, North Michigan Road from the City Limits to Veteran’s Parkway, Dogwood Road from State Road 331 to U.S. 6, and 9B Road from Union to County Line.

The total project cost is about $1.33 million with state funding totalling $997,500 and the county’s match at $332,500.

The Marshall County Council members approved the list as presented.  It will be presented to the Marshall County Commissioners on Tuesday.

This is the same list the highway department submitted in the last grant round.  The county didn’t get any funding at that time.  Commission President Kevin Overmyer said the state only had $60 million available for projects and over $200 million in funding was requested in the last grant round.
