The Marshall County Economic Development Corporation is resuming efforts to brand Marshall County.
Lou Pierce with Big Idea discussed the plans with the Marshall County Commissioners last week which included defining characteristics that makes the county what it is.
The county is the crossroads of northern Indiana and that’s where the focus is in a slogan or positioning statement. The idea is to draw education possibilities, manufacturing, business, and local and rural atmosphere together and market it to those looking for a place to settle. Those involved in the process found “far from nothing, close to everything” as a possible positioning statement for Marshall County.
They hope to go live with this aspect in the next couple of months with a budget of about $36,000-$41,000.
The commissioners told Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez that they will take up the topic again at their next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22 on the effort moving forward. Chavez indicated that a similar presentation will be delivered to the Marshall County Council members during their meeting this morning at 9 a.m.
