The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today where they will go over the reorganization of the highway department. Highway Supervisor Jason Peters will also present the grant application for the Community Crossings call for projects and discuss an ordinance that restricts trucks on certain county roads.
Sheriff Matt Hassel will review an ordinance that would establish an inmate processing fee. In a previous meeting, Sheriff Hassel said a $50 fee would be assessed as part of a defendant’s court fines and costs when sentenced. The fee can be waived in certain circumstances. The money collected would be used toward inmate jail programs. The sheriff will also discuss a vehicle purchase and a memorandum of understanding with the Lake Maxinkuckee Association.
The Community Corrections grant application request will be presented to the commissioners which is similar to the presentation delivered to the council members last week.
Clerk Deb VanDeMark will discuss Microvote and County Attorney Jim Clevenger will have an update on legal matters.
The Marshall County Commissioners will meet at 9:30 a.m. today in the second floor meeting room in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
