The Culver Town Council will consider increases in rates for services performed by the Culver-Union Township EMS.
In a work session held prior the regular meeting on Tuesday night, EMS Director Kathy Hart is proposing a 20 percent increase in Advanced Life Support Level 2 involving paramedic duties to $1,020, Advanced Life Support Level 1 involving duties of advanced EMTs to $660, and Basic Life Support to $540.
Advanced Life Support treatment with no transport would be $150, Basic Life Support treatment with no transport would be $50 or at the discretion of the EMS Director, and miles would be determined at $12.50 per loaded mile.
In comparison, the rates Hart provided to the council members are less expensive than what Starke County and Pulaski County charge and more than what Plymouth EMS charges.
A public hearing on the rates is scheduled for the town council’s next regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
