Six defendants were sentenced in Marshall County Superior Court No. 1 on Thursday, Dec. 13 where Judge Robert O. Bowen accepted plea agreements reached between the offenders and the State of Indiana.
In information submitted by Marshall County Prosecuting Attorney Nelson Chipman, Gunnar Van Horn 26, of Macy, was sentenced to 13 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections which resulted in executed time to resolve his pending cases. He admitted to dealing methamphetamine on several occasions in 2017 and 2018 at various locations in Marshall County.
Robert Adams, 28, was sentenced to four years in the DOC followed by one year of reporting probation after pleading guilty to his participation in dealing methamphetamine in April of 2018 at a residence located within 150 feet of a school.
Alan Dilts, 19, of Culver, was sentenced as part of his plea agreement with the state to nine years, six of which will be served in the DOC with three years of sex offender reporting probation. Dilts was at a social event this summer at the victim’s house where he admitted to engaging in sexual contact with a 12-year-old victim.
Bill Hackworth, 38, of Warsaw, was sentenced by the terms of his plea agreement with the state to eight years in the DOC. He admitted to dealing cocaine in March of this year.
Aaron Sneed, 26, of Bourbon, was sentenced to 16.5 years in the DOC in a plea agreement with the state. He admitted to violating probation in a 2015 case, resisting law enforcement in 2016, dealing methamphetamine in May of 2017 and charges of intimidation and battery resulting in bodily injury in 2018.
Mark Matyas, 38, of Bremen, was sentenced to eight years in the DOC of which one year was suspended to be served on probation. He pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state to a charge of dealing methamphetamine in December of 2017.
