Argos Officials To Conduct Interviews with Architecture Firms

Officials in the Town of Argos are looking into the possibility of building an emergency services building that would house the fire station and EMS department but before that can happen an architecture firm needs to be selected.

Town officials are considering applying for a 90/10 OCRA matching grant to help cover the cost of construction for the new facility. However, in order to apply, some design plans must be in place so an architect has to be brought in to draw those up. The firm would also assist with a feasibility study that would measure the potential impact of such a project.

Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said the Troyer Group and Arkos Design, Inc were the two companies that submitted a letter of interest for this project.

Mullaney mentioned that representatives from both businesses will be brought in for interviews. Once the interviews are conducted, town council members will deliberate about which company to hire for the job.

Mullaney noted that the interviews will likely take place during a workshop prior to the council’s next meeting on Wednesday, December 19th.

Author’s note:
I personally want to apologize for the way this article was originally written, as it indicated this was a finalized decision.

Officials are still in the preliminary stages of researching this possibility and they’re doing everything they can to measure the impact such an endeavor would have on the town and are investigating how to secure financial assistance from a grant for the potential project.

The way the story was worded initially was misleading and I am sorry for any confusion that it caused. It has since been amended to reflect the fact that is a hypothetical project that is currently being considered. I apologize again for the error and for any inconvenience that it caused.
