The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today where the highway superintendent position will be discussed.
During the Oct. 15 meeting, the commissioners decided to work with Waggoner, Irwin and Scheele to work out wording for a highway department superintendent position. The county council members withdrew funding for a county engineer during the budget process, but approved a raise earlier for Highway Supervisor Jason Peters as he’s doing the work of the superintendent. However, Peters hasn’t been officially placed into that position.
In other business, County Attorney Jim Clevenger will present a BIS Digital, Inc. agreement. The company specializes in audio and visual recording software. Company Representative Michael Morin said in a previous meeting that it will help with the auditor’s recording of the minutes. The commissioners are expected to determine from which line item the $72,500 upgrade cost will come.
Highway Supervisor Jason Peters will give an update and Marshall County Museum Executive Director Linda Rippy will have a quarterly report for the commissioners.
The commissioners will amend safety procedures and emergency protective measures as recommended by the Safety Committee and discuss the 2019 employee benefits monthly cost. The Ray Reed Memorial will be a topic of discussion as well as an appointment to the Culver-Union Township Public Library Board.
The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today at 8:30 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
