John Glenn School Corporation Superintendent Richard Reese submitted his retirement paperwork for school board consideration Tuesday night.

In an official letter to the school board, Reese thanked the dedicated teachers, staff, students and parents for his successful 42 years in education. He was a middle school Social Studies teacher for seven years, he spent one year as assistant principal, 20 years as a middle school principal, and 14 years as superintendent.

The five board members present during the meeting all expressed their appreciation of Reese’s dedication to education and the betterment of the John Glenn School Corporation and community.

Reese’s last day will be June 30, 2019.

In the meantime, the school board is attempting to find Reese’s successor. They are anticipated to approve the hire of a new superintendent in December.
