The Plymouth City Council members took action last week to approve a prepayment to eGov Strategies in order to get a new city website started.
Mayor Mark Senter explained that the company out of Indianapolis has worked on other municipal websites and he was impressed with the layouts.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi said the money is in the budget next year, but the mayor found some funds out of the city promotions fund in order to get the website started this year. The initial payment will allow the work to begin with the rest of the funding to be paid when the website is complete.
The city council members unanimously approved the initial payment of $3,712.
