It’s been over a year since Kent Irwin from Waggoner, Irwin and Scheele appeared before the Marshall County Council members with a recommendation to overhaul the county’s job descriptions and wages. A year later, the job descriptions are finally in the hands of county officials for review.
The job descriptions and wages were discussed during the budget adoption portion of the county council meeting on Monday, however it was mentioned that the department heads haven’t had a chance to review them to give recommendations back to the company for formal approval by the fiscal body. An ordinance adopting those descriptions will be up for discussion in a future meeting.
The company suggested that the county would have the information in June, well ahead of the budget process, but were delayed after more details were gathered to include in the final report. The county council previously approved a contract amount of $45,000 for the work to be done.
