Culver Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim notified the town council members this week that several additional appropriations will be before them for approval in November.
She said they will be advertised and a time will be set for a public hearing concerning the additional appropriations for encumbered funds from 2017.
Heim said the encumbered funds were to be used for projects this year, but they weren’t done soon enough to technically use them as encumbered funds, and some funds are from this year’s budget. A total of $95,100 from the General Fund, $10,333 from Motor Vehicle Highway and $8,300 from Local Roads and Streets will be advertised for additional appropriation. Heim will also ask the Department of Local Government Finance to spend $250,000 for grants and $8,000 from the Riverboat fund to give to the Marshall County Council on Aging for Transportation and EMS Catch the Spirit Gala.
The public hearing is anticipated for Tuesday, Nov. 27.
