The Bremen Town Council members continue to work with representatives from Umbaugh and Associates on water and sewer rates.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said a rate study recently revealed that a rate increase is needed. The town council members are unsure at what rate the increase will be, but an increase is expected in the January billing. On top of not knowing what rate to increase the utility bills, Weldy added that it may be a residential user hike or a business user hike, or both.
Previously, Weldy mentioned that the increases could be about $2.00 to $2.50 more per bill for the average consumer who uses about 3,000 gallons of water a month.
