The Argos Town Council members approved the budget for next year.
The 2019 proposed budget is a little over $1.9 million while the levy is around $876,000.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said that the employees are expected to get a three percent increase.
“We do a merit-based system,” explained Mullaney. “The town council will decide what percentage, either one, two or three percent, and we’ll put that into the salary ordinance. Based on their merit off of their reviews, they’ll get a percentage off of that percentage.”
The budget was adopted with a vote of 3-1. George Null abstained from the vote as he is active with the Argos Fire Department.
