The John Glenn School Board approved the advertisement for a new superintendent Tuesday night.
The school board has been working with the University Superintendent Search Team, comprised of members from Ball State University, Indiana University, Purdue University and Indiana State University to fill the position when current Superintendent Richard Reese steps down at the end of June.
Reese has not yet formally presented his retirement to the school board for approval; however, it is expected to be up for consideration at a September board meeting.
Technology Director Andrew Stegemiller completed a detailed, color brochure for the open position. The brochure gives information about the corporation, highlights from all of the schools, the mission statement, enrollment statistics, graduation rates, testing trends, and all of the qualifications expected of a superintendent at the John Glenn School Corporation.
The application will be submitted to Dr. John Hill and Dr. Jim Freeland with the University Search Team.
According to the brochure, the deadline for submitting an application is Oct. 5 of this year. Superintendent Reese mentioned that the school board wants to have someone in place by the end of the year so the new superintendent can be in place by July 1, 2019.
