Many staff members and students from Plymouth High School will be volunteering their time to help park vehicles during the 52nd Annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival. Plymouth Schools Marketing Director Judi Lykowski shared that the activity serves as a huge fundraiser for various clubs that the students participate in.

The organizations that will benefit include the speech and debate club, the local chapter of the AFS International Program, the Chinese and Spanish clubs, the band and choir, the acting club and stage crew, the robotics club, the yearbook and the prom committee.

All week, students and staff who plan to be involved have been meeting for a 25-minute advisory period during the school day and after school hours in order to complete Blueberry Festival parking lot training. They will be directing traffic and collecting parking lot money during the four-day festival.

Local law-enforcement will patrol the area on foot and on ATVs to ensure the parking lot remains safe and secure.

PHS is the “official” Blueberry Festival parking lot for event-goers. Parking costs $8 for a single day parking pass and the fee includes tram tickets for all passengers. The trams shuttle people into the heart of the festival and back. Weekend passes can be purchased for $16 and will allow you to park in the PHS lot Friday through Monday.

Additionally, for the first time this year the newly formed Lincoln Jr. High School PTO will be parking vehicles directly northwest from Plymouth High School in the adjacent amphitheater lot. The cost for a daily spot is $7 and proceeds will help offset the costs for the annual 8th grade trip to Washington DC.
