While ArborLift revolutionizes tree transplantation, Argos officials have been coordinating with members of the Culver Tree Commission about making some arborous additions around town.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said that Marshall County Building Commissioner Chuck DeWitt reached out to the Commission members and they came into Argos to take a look at the trees that are already planted.
She explained, “They offered to come over and look at our trees downtown and they said we maybe have some that are not appropriate for downtown because they’ll get quite large.”
Mullaney noted that aside from assessing the existing trees, members of the Culver Tree Commission said they could also assist with planning for the future by informing officials about the types of trees that would be suitable for the area as well as helping them get the trees ordered.
While nothing official has been proposed as of yet, Mullaney said the citizen-driven Argos Task Force did talk about the possibility of potentially purchasing trees in the future to donate to home-owners or to plant in the park as a way to have more trees growing around the community.
