The Marshall County Council members will be discussing the budget in a meeting on Aug. 21 where department heads will go over line items and budget needs for 2019.
Included in those budget discussions will be salaries. Department heads were asked to include a four percent increase in their projections for 2019. The council will have an opportunity to cut that if necessary.
On Aug. 9, the county council members will hold a work session where representatives from Waggoner, Irwin and Scheele will discuss their findings of the overhaul of the job descriptions for all county positions. That information will help determine salaries and fill in budget numbers for 2019.
A budget hearing is scheduled for Sept. 10 and it is the hope of Auditor Julie Fox that the budget is adopted on Oct. 8.
