The Marshall County Commissioners may approve a contract soon with the Telemon Energy Corporation to upgrade the lighting in the county building, courthouse, annex, and highway department building.
Commissioner Mike Delp said Bruce Breeden submitted a contract to do the work. The commissioners previously agreed to move forward with an energy savings assessment by the company to convert to LED lighting for a cost savings effort.
County Attorney Jim Clevenger mentioned some changes that he’d like to make to the contract before it is formally approved. Delp commented that if they would like to move forward, then the contract should be approved in September or October to get in on a potential upgrade reimbursement from NIPSCO.
Delp added another thing the commissioners will need to consider is how to fund the upgrades. That will be discussed in a future meeting.
