The former Shady Rest Home property on Lincoln Highway in Plymouth is now in the hands of David’s Courage.
Marshall County Attorney Jim Clevenger told the commissioners Monday morning that the co-founders of David’s Courage are ready to assume the property and deed of the property to continue in their quest to start drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation at the facility.
The commissioners unanimously approved a motion to approve the transfer of property from Marshall County to the David’s Courage organization and the transfer of the corporate warranty deed.
As previously reported, those suffering from addiction will be screened in order to take part in intense treatment programs at the facility. It’s a 90 to 180 day transition program where addicts will not only get the tools they need to live a life without drugs or alcohol, but they will receive training from job coaches, and get help with housing, employment, transportation, budgeting and nutrition.
