The Culver Town Council members considered a resolution for the town’s contribution toward a project in the county’s Regional Stellar Communities Designation Program.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist said the proposed project would be another phase of the Lake Maxinkuckee Bike and Walking Trail.
“The two documents the committee asked for from us are a resolution authorizing our local match which would be 20 percent, and then acknowledgement, in the form of a resolution, that the trail would in part be on county right-of-way on Academy Road, possibly, for that next phase,” said Leist.
The town’s match is $200,000 and it wouldn’t need to be paid until 2022 or 2023, if the designation is awarded.
Leist said he will appear before the Marshall County Commissioners at their next meeting where he will discuss the project in more detail.
The resolution was approved with a unanimous vote.
