The roof at the Culver-Union Township Fire Station will be repaired.
Fire Chief Terry Wakefield said he’s been waiting to make these repairs for some time. There was $10,000 budgeted for the work to be done this year. When it went out for quotes in May the lowest quote out of the two companies that submitted them was about $24,000. The scope of the project was amended and the town reached out to six or seven companies in the second request for quotes. One company said they would honor their earlier quote while Bran Roofing submitted a lower quote of $16,924.
The Culver Town Council members approved the quote from Bran Roofing. The budgeted $10,000 will be used to pay for the work to be done while the remaining balance will be paid for with funds out of the maintenance budget.
