The Plymouth High School may be used as a Vote Center in the upcoming November General Election.
Representatives from the school corporation requested the use of voting machines to teach students the process of voting in the civic portion of government classes this fall and it was suggested that the high school be used as a Vote Center the day of the election.
The school staff is attempting to increase the number of student voters during elections.
Clerk Deb Vandemark said the voting machines have to be with an official the entire time it is at the high school as the state has many security regulations with the voting machines.
The Marshall County Election Board was open to the idea of hosting a Vote Center at the Plymouth High School this November. The board tabled a decision until Vandemark can talk to officials at the National Guard Armory concerning their renovation project and the Knights of Columbus about possibly moving the vote center from that location to the high school. The board will discuss the matter during their next meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 8:30 a.m.
