Plymouth City Council Approves Fee Ordinance

The Plymouth City Council members unanimously approved the third reading of the amended ordinance regarding various fees for the City of Plymouth.

Fees were updated for each department including police, fire, street, building permits, parking fees, wastewater, cemetery, park, and other operations.

The fees will go into effect after it is advertised for public consumption.

Councilman Gary Cook added an amendment that would require the city council and department heads to review the fees every two years. Councilman Don Ecker, Jr. mentioned it in previous meetings as well, both of them saying that they need to keep better track of expenses and fees. Some of the fees in this updated ordinance hadn’t been updated in more than 10 years. It was proposed that the department heads and council members review the fee ordinance again in 2021 and present any changes during budget discussions with fee reviews every two years following that. That proposal was unanimously approved.
