The staff members who occupy the Plymouth City Building will have to wait a little while longer before moving into the newly renovated structure.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi told the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members Tuesday night that the stairwell is holding up the process. The design for that portion of the project had to be reconfigured. The cost of the changes will be discussed with RQAW for possible partial payment of that oversight in the initial design.
Additionally, flooring will not be in until the middle of August.
The staff members were supposed to move back to the city building around Aug. 1. That might not happen now until the latter part of August.
Surrisi did mention that what work is done on the upper level looks great. The clerk-treasurer’s office also looks refreshed with a new floor plan and bathroom facility on the first floor.
The clerk-treasurer’s staff and the mayor’s staff have been operating out of the adjoining Plymouth Chamber of Commerce building for nearly a year.
An extension of the occupancy of the chamber building may be considered in a future council meeting.
