Work Underway on New Lincoln Junior High School

After more than a year of planning, work on the new Lincoln Junior High School is now underway. It will be located to the east of the existing building.

Superintendent Andy Hartley told the Plymouth School Board Tuesday that workers have begun preparing the site. “Topsoil’s being removed,” he said. “They’ve established a silt frame around the perimeter. I’ve had questions about that, ‘What’s the little black thing going all the way around?’ That’s just to help prevent erosion and keeping the dirt off the streets as much as possible. Taking down the old goalposts and the press box demolished, and they’re starting to just establish the grade and getting ready for the building.”

Hartley added that water main relocation also began Tuesday. Going forward, he plans to have a representative from The Skillman Corporation, the project’s construction manager, give regular updates to the school board.
