Marshall County Health Administrator Christine Stinson asked the county commissioners this week to apply for an emergency preparedness grant.
She explained that the annual grant will fund the part-time salary for health educator and emergency preparedness employee. Theresa Budd is the current health educator and emergency preparedness coordinator. She has been in the position since January of this year.
The grant was reduced by $3,000 from last year so no extra money will able to be used for equipment or other needs. Stinson said there may be the possibility that not all counties will apply for the grant so Marshall County could get some extra funds. For now, the county will apply for the $16,085 grant.
The Marshall County Commissioners unanimously approved the request.
