An offer of employment has been extended to Ty Adley, who is scheduled to take over for Marshall County Plan Director Ralph Booker once he retires.
At last Monday’s Marshall County Commissioners’ meeting, Commissioner Mike Delp noted that as long as Adley passes the background check and the preliminary steps involved in the hiring process, he will officially replace Booker on July 1st.
According to Plan Commission President Stan Klotz, Adley currently resides in South Carolina but has roots in Indiana.
Klotz reported that officials are still working out the details of what will happen during the transition period. He said they’re unsure whether Adley will return to the area prior to Booker’s retirement on June 30th. Since Booker will not be permitted to work for the county immediately following his retirement, they don’t know if he’ll be able to train his replacement on the job before he leaves.
Booker stated that once Adley gets hired on, he will first need to familiarize himself with the way things work and learn the procedure for checking permit requests online since this is a daily responsibility.
He added that the first big thing that Adley may be responsible for is preparing a report to present to the BZA during their July 10th meeting.
Plan Commission President Klotz added that officials are confident that Adley is a great fit for the position since he possesses noteworthy certifications and multiple degrees in planning.
Klotz said that his credentials exceeded anyone’s expectations and they show that he will make a positive addition to Marshall County.
