The Plymouth City Hall renovation project is nearing completion.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi gave the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission an update Tuesday night. He noted that a final walk through of the buildings is tentatively set for July 23. At that time, a punchlist of items will be made in order to officially wrap up the project. He said a couple of items may lag behind after the completion date, including the stairwell which had to be redesigned due to wrong measurements.
“That stairwell is still lagging behind. They said by the next progress meeting next Wednesday (June 27) we should have the shop drawings of the stairs and a cost for that. The installation of that is going to drag on a bit so they think the painting of the interior will have to happen while we’re already occupying the rest of the building,” explained Surrisi. Who’s to pay for the mistake will be discussed in a future setting.
A decision on ceiling work in the adjoining Plymouth Chamber of Commerce building won’t be made until after the Aug. 1 date.
The windows are being installed at this point.
The commission members did unanimously approve the cost of a sign and window graphics for the Chamber of Commerce building in the amount $2,139.
