Plymouth City Council Discusses Fee Ordinance

The Plymouth City Council members reviewed an amended fee ordinance that was up for second reading Monday night.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi pointed out some changes in the ordinance which included the fees for copies and documents in the clerk-treasurer’s office. Some wording was stricken from the documents for items that no longer apply. For the most part, all of the fees that propose increases are included. The plan commission, board of zoning appeals, police department copies, rates and schedules for permits, project review fees, water and wastewater charges, parking fees, cemetery fees, garbage removal charges, street cuts and potholing were reviewed.

Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver said a projected overall revenue impact the increased fees will have on the budget will be determined as she begins the budgeting process in July.

The city council members unanimously approved the second reading of the ordinance. The third reading will be considered during their next meeting on Monday, July 9. The fees won’t be in effect until they are advertised.
