The 2018 health promotion services agreement was discussed by the Plymouth City Council members Monday night.
Goshen Hospital Association, Inc., doing business as Get Fit Get Healthy, provides the city’s wellness program for employees. The agreement is a renewal of what was drawn up in documents from two years ago.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi said it’s been a positive program. More participation was recorded last year with blood draws and other testing requested. Communication is provided to employees and other services and programs are offered to help improve an individual’s health.
Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver said it’s a great incentive program to be healthier as increasing insurance costs is always a concern. Showing initiative to improve health helps keep those costs lower.
After review, the Plymouth City Council members unanimously approved the contract.
