Marshall County Prosecutor Says at Least 15 Abandoned Dogs Found Near Dixon Lake

The Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding whoever abandoned several dogs near Dixon Lake. Fifteen dogs have been retrieved by the Marshall County Humane Society, as of Friday afternoon.

The Humane Society has been working for over a week to track down the abandoned dogs, according to Facebook posts from the Prosecutor’s Office. Officials say many of the female dogs were pregnant. They believe that six puppies died after being born prematurely.

The Prosecutor’s Office says that some of the dogs have since been taken in by rescue organizations. But they still have no information on who owned the dogs or who may have dumped them near Dixon Lake.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
