Bremen Town Council to Open Bids for Lift Station Project

The Bremen Town Council members will be opening bids for the new lift stations in town.

Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that the bid opening is set for the town council’s next meeting on Monday, July 9.

The town council members met with the Bremen Redevelopment Commission last year to discuss funding for the replacement or improvement of 14 lift stations in the wastewater system. He said the Redevelopment Commission members agreed to pay for the project. Seven of the lift stations will be replaced this year and seven will be replaced next year.

The current lift stations are about 40 to 50 years old and are in need of an upgrade. Nine lift stations are located in the town’s jurisdiction while five are in the TIF areas.
