The Bremen Town Council members approved an ordinance to complete the annexation process for an industry expansion project.
According to Town Attorney Anthony Wagner, the ordinance received final approval during the council’s meeting last week. The ordinance allows 75 acres of property north of Bremen to be incorporated into the town in order for Southwire officials to expand operations.
A public hearing was held in May concerning the action where only two residents spoke their opinions. Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy previously said that one resident was against the annexation while the other wanted to make sure a nice building was constructed on the property and that the specific plans would be followed.
