Starting in July, Argos residents will begin receiving full-page bills in envelopes rather than the post-card style that has been sent out in the past.
The change was initially announced back in May and Argos Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney issued a reminder during last week’s town council meeting.
Mullaney previously reported that officials decided to switch over to full-page billing after the perforation on the post-card style bills was causing problems during the mailing process.
She noted that on New Year’s Day, the Town Clerk’s Office received a call from a mail carrier who stated that she had to sort through two big bags of mail to find the matching halves. She then had to tape them together in order to get the entire bill delivered to the specified resident.
The clerk-treasurer mentioned that she spoke with other municipality officials and the towns of Walkerton and Winamac also switched over to full-page billing due to similar problems with perforated bills. If you have any questions, contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 574-892-5717.
