Triton school board members approved a donation worth $1500 when they met last Monday.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle explained that the donation is intended for the Junior High resource program, led by teacher Sarrah Davis. Superintendent Riffle said that students in that class have recently been working on a volunteer project to assist the community.

“They are actually making blankets for the local babies that are being born and/or nursing homes.” Rifle explained, “So it’s donations of fabric and money to continue that service project.”

Thanks to gracious donations from various community members and organizations, the students have already been able to make and distribute more than 100 blankets so far. The superintendent said, “There are over 150 blankets that they’ve created and I think they just handed those over to the hospitals to give them as necessary.”
