Triton Director of Maintenance Bruce Gephart provided school board members with a couple of project updates during his report at Monday’s meeting.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said that Gephart told members about the preliminary work that is being done on the schools’ bond project.
Riffle noted that the three major things that will be tackled include the roof replacement at the high school, the construction of the new auxiliary gym and an HVAC project at the elementary school.
The superintendent said that work has started on the roof project at the high school. He mentioned that it is about 45 percent complete at this point. As far as the auxiliary gym goes, Riffle said that some initial work has been completed and footers have been poured.
“You can’t really see much there.” Riffle explained, “Most of the work that’s being done right there is underground, just setting those footers in preparation for the pre-engineered building.”
Riffle said that most of the Elementary School HVAC project will be taken care of this summer. However, next week a cement pad will be poured to prepare for the installation of the new boilers.
