Plymouth Man Arrested after Allegedly Resisting Police

A Plymouth man is in the Marshall County Jail after running from police as officers were attempting to take him into custody on a felony arrest warrant.

According to the Plymouth Police Department, officers arrived at a residence on North Michigan Street in an attempt to take Gary Felix into custody on an active warrant out of St. Joseph County. Police say Felix resisted the officer and freed himself from the officer’s grasp and ran into the Northgate Trailer Park on foot.

The officer pursued Felix on foot and he caught up to him where he tackled him to the ground, according to the report. Felix reportedly freed himself again and fled on foot. Police say Felix ran into a trailer and the officer waited for backup to arrive. When assistance arrived, the officers reportedly made entry into the trailer. The officer’s account of the event revealed that Felix was found hiding behind a door in a bedroom. Felix reportedly continued to resist law enforcement, but officers were able to place him into handcuffs and he was transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Felix, 29, was arrested on the active warrant and an additional preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement.
