Plymouth City Council Holds Public Hearing on Additional Appropriation Requests

The Plymouth City Council members held a public hearing on Monday night concerning several additional appropriation requests.

Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver explained that $100,000 was for the street department that was transferred earlier this year from an equipment line item to assist with flood relief. Another request was for $4,200 for rent at 118 N. Michigan which would extend the lease there for three months as renovation efforts to the city building at 124 N. Michigan Street will take longer than anticipated. The third request was for $9,600 for Aquatics Center fees and the final request was for $15,000 for the St. Joseph Health System Catch the Spirit Gala. The gala funding was reduced to $10,000 as the West and Center Township Trustees indicated that a $2,500 donation toward the effort would be made on their township’s behalf.

There was no public comment given during the hearing.

Later in the meeting the council members unanimously approved a resolution approving the additional appropriations as presented.
