Plymouth City Council Hears Request from Fire Department’s Relay for Life Team

A representative of the Plymouth Fire Department came before the city council, to submit an application for the exemption of licensing requirements when members met last Monday.

Jim Budd told council members that the Fire Department is raising funds for the Marshall County Relay for Life. He requested permission to collect donations on the corners of Jefferson Street and Michigan Street from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 2nd, with a potential rain date of June 9th.

He told the members that they’re hoping to reach their goal this year to add even more money to the funds they’ve raised for this incredible cause since they began participating in the event.

“This is a fourth year of doing this again.” Budd explained, “If we reach our goal this year we’ll be over, for Plymouth, $40,000 raised for Relay for Life.”

The city council members unanimously approved the request.

This year’s Marshall County Relay for Life will be held on Saturday, June 16th beginning at noon in River Park Square. You can help them reach their goal by visiting the Plymouth Fire Department’s Relay for Life donation page.
