A few security cameras will be replaced at the Marshall County Jail while new security cameras will be installed in two courts.
Sheriff Matt Hassel presented the Marshall County Commissioners with two quotes for security cameras. The sheriff said bad cameras will be replaced while new cameras will be installed in Superior Court No. 1 and Superior Court No. 2. While $130,000 was budgeted for all new cameras, Sheriff Hassel explained that he’d rather utilize the cameras he has now and replace them as needed rather than replace them all.
Hassel indicated that funding for the replacement and maintenance of the cameras will be figured into his budget in the upcoming years.
Vermillion submitted a quote for $36,900 while Cottage Watchman provided a quote in the amount of $49,660.
The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the quote from Vermillion as it was the lowest quote. The company will work with the IT Department in the installation process.
