Marshall County Council Waits on CF-1 Compliance Vote

The Marshall County Council members decided to wait before they vote on CF-1 Compliance reports.

Several companies in the county have applied for tax abatements and it is a state requirement that they report on the progress of their terms of the tax abatement. The reports typically include the number of employees hired. Auditor Julie Fox indicated that her office and the assessor’s office checked the papers and found they are in order.

Councilwoman Penny Lukenbill asked if the information was verified and suggested that the council members take time to visit the companies to review operations and to show that the county officials are interested in how economy is progressing. The council members agreed and split up the list to reconnect with the manufacturing and industry sectors.
