Bremen Schools Work with NEOLA to Update School Policies

Bremen School Board members received a brief update about NEOLA policy upgrades at their Monday night meeting.

Superintendent Dr. Jim White previously shared that up until recently, Bremen officials were writing their own policies. In order to avoid being left behind, school board members agreed to enter into a partnership with NEOLA, an organization that will help them incorporate all applicable state laws and regulations into their school policies.

Back in February, Dr. White began working with NEOLA officials to assess which state-mandated rules were missing to make selections and customizations that would specifically fit the needs of the school corporation.

School Treasurer Stephanie Pittman said that this week, members learned that drafts have been developed for the new policies. Members will have a chance to review the policies for about 2 weeks to a month. During that time they can submit any questions or concerns to the superintendent.

The school board will consider adopting the policies at a future meeting.
