The Bremen Town Council members will be ready to take bids soon on the proposed lift station project. Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that the project will be split into two phases.
“We have 14 lift stations in town that all have to be redone,” said Weldy. “They’re 50 to 60 years old and some of them are a little older than that. We are going through and updating them and moving a couple of them to get them in better locations in town so it’s easier for our guys to get to and work on. Seven will be done this year and seven next year.”
The project is estimated at $1.5 million, but the town council hopes the bids come in under the engineer’s estimate.
