The stop signs at Veteran’s Parkway and 7th Road will be removed, but not before a speed limit ordinance adjusts the speed limit on the road.
Commissioner Mike Delp said to his fellow commissioners this week that he’s spoken to several homeowners on the road and other constituents who wouldn’t mind if the county removed the stop signs on Veteran’s Parkway and 7th Road.
With that, it was thought to reduce the speed limit for traffic going west off of Veteran’s Parkway as it is posted on the eastbound lane.
While the stop signs would be removed, other signage would be erected that alerts drivers of “hidden driveways” and “cross traffic doesn’t stop.”
The commissioners will discuss the changes with Highway Supervisor Jason Peters. County Attorney Jim Clevenger will make the change to the speed limit ordinance. The stop signs will come down when the speed limit ordinance amendment is adopted.
