Plymouth Board of Works members heard quotes for trucks that will be purchased for the Water Department and Wastewater Department when they met last Monday. City Attorney Sean Surrisi opened the quotes and read them out loud to enter them into the record.
He said the first quote received for the Water Department truck came from the Plymouth dealership Oliver Ford who submitted a base quote of $30,510 and provided a trade-in value for a 1999 Ford F250 Pick UP truck of $650, bringing the net total to $29,860.
The other quote came from Country Auto Center, which is also based in Plymouth. Their quote was for a 2019 half ton pick up truck and they submitted a base quote of $29,375.55 and provided an $800 trade-in amount for a net total of $28,575.55
Surrisi stated that Oliver Ford was the only company to submit a quote for the Wastewater Department truck. He also provided some information about the truck they were offering.
He explained, “This is for an F5 5500 Series, or equal truck chassis, equipped with an 11-foot dump bed.” The base quote for the vehicle came in at $67,541, with a trade-in value of $3,500 for a 1997 F350 dump truck, bringing the net amount to $64,041.
Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson asked the board for permission to take the quotes under advisement and return to them with a recommendation at the next meeting. Board members cast a unanimous vote to allow him to do so.
