Entries are now closed for the street naming contest for a portion of road at the Sand Hill Farms workforce development housing project in the Town of Culver. However, an opportunity to name the town park may become available.
Outgoing Park Superintendent Anna Campbell-Nowalk told the Culver Town Council members last week that the town park doesn’t technically have an official name. She’d like to see a name unique to the park to separate it from the proposed Cavalier Sports Park. She said the area was once owned by the Vandalia Railroad so it may revert to Vandalia Park, but she wants the town council to think about allowing the public to name it since naming the street has found some fun suggestions.
No decisions were made. The council members may discuss the possibility in a future meeting.
