Criminal Interdiction Patrol a Success

A criminal interdiction patrol on U.S. 30 and U.S. 31 on Friday, March 2 was deemed a success.

Police say the focus was to target criminal activity in Marshall, Kosciusko and St. Joseph Counties. In all, 49 vehicles were stopped where 21 tickets and 25 warnings were given to drivers. One commercial motor vehicle inspection was conducted, two vehicles were impounded, four people were arrested on nine different criminal charges, and one person was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated on a controlled substance.

Police reportedly found marijuana and heroin during the search of two vehicles. It was also reported that a vehicle pursuit occurred during this patrol that ended in Marshall County on U.S. 31. No other details on that incident were released.

Officers from the Indiana State Police Bremen Post All Crimes Policing Team were involved in this patrol along with K9 handlers from the Lowell Post and Peru State Police Posts, deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and officers from the Warsaw Police Department.
